We spent all of day 4 in and around Lisbon. The morning was a tour with our group and we spent the afternoon on our own shopping and wandering around the main downtown area.
We started the day at Queluz Palace. It was really beautiful (of course; aren't they all?!)
Then we went to an area called Belem and...
Went to this "famous" pastry shop (it was HUGE, by the way!) and had some really yummy "cakes." They were different, but really good. The inside was kind of custard-y. And a coca-coca light for Jamie (they don't believe in diet...just light. Tasted kind of like coke zero...not my favorite)
If you are wondering what's with the nametags, we HAD to wear them anytime we were with the auto-owners group :)
Saw Henry the Navigator's monument (woo-hoo). But the statue guys were BIG!
Jeronimo Monastery - it was HUGE...one of the biggest churches I've ever seen.
And Belem Tower (an old fortress)
Then we had some spare time so we flew to CA for the day. Actually, this bridge was just built by the same company that built the Bay Bridge.
Found a store named Richards
Visited this church/museum. It's roof collapsed during a huge earthquake in 177something, and was never fixed. It was pretty cool.

Oh, how I love seafood. But it sure looked pretty in that cute dish, with part of the ice dyed blue, and all. AND, I did actually eat it (well, some of it) It was ok, but not worth finishing

Man, I could look at the pictures of the architecture and buildings all day long. You just don't see things like that here in the states.
