Day 6 - Bondi Beach

On Sunday, November 30th, we decided to go to a different beach. At this point we had seen most of the sights in Sydney we wanted to (or thought were worth paying for) and just wanted to spend the remainder of our vacation relaxing. So we took a 30-40 minute bus ride to Bondi Beach. The beach was beautiful and not too crowded (it was only 10 am when we got there) but we didn't stay. Instead we took off on a walk along the cliff edges around Bondi beach. It was a beauitful walk along a paved trail with incredible views of the harbor.

We walked for about an hour and stopped at an awesome beach called Tamarama Beach. It was small, but not crowded and was picture perfect. We played there for a little bit before turning back. We planned on coming back to this beach the next day!

Along part of the trail there was this cool area where you could walk along the rocks (although they were covered with barnacles and really hurt your bare feet!) and the waves would come crashing up and create little pockets of water you could play and swim in.

After getting back to Bondi beach we went back to our hotel, and then headed back to Manly Beach for the rest of the day. It was a little overcast, but still nice to just sit, read, and do absolutely NOTHING!

That evening was our last night on our own. We met up with Jason and Colleen and went to find some dinner. We joked about how when we were in Portugal on our last night we found a Pizza Hut and it was one of the best places we had eaten in Portugal. And, that Colleen had seen a Pizza Hut in Sydney. We said if we couldn't find anything we would go to Pizza Hut. Well, after 1 1/2 hours of not seeing anything that looked great, we were headed to find that Pizza Hut. The only problem was, we didn't know exactly where it was...just the street (which happens to be one of the longest streets in Sydney!). So we hopped on the bus and kept our eyes peeled. I think Colleen let out a pretty big squeal when she spotted it! It really did taste fantastic and the best part was they had the pizza buffet AND fountain drinks with refills!!! (you couldn't find a fountain drink to save your life in Sydney...or a restaurant that charged you for each glass of soda!). It was the perfect way to end the night and we've decided we've started a tradition!
